It is my pleasure to host the European Competition Day, the central event on competition policy during Portugal’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2021. The Conference will cover a number of trending topics, such as digital markets, the economic recovery and the role of competition towards a more inclusive and social Europe. This event will bring together renowned specialists in competition law and economics, including high-level representatives from governments, competition authorities, the private sector and academia. The Conference will take place on 15 June 2021 in Lisbon with a limited number of guests, and will be livestreamed and open to the public in general.

Estufa Fria ("Cold Greenhouse") is a greenhouse garden located in the heart of Lisbon, in Parque Eduardo VII. In the 19th century the site was a quarry reused by a modest gardener in order to accommodate different plant species from all over the world, which later were used in the afforestation plan of Avenida da Liberdade, which links Parque Eduardo VII to downtown.
Inaugurated in 1933, with an area of approximately 1.5 ha, it consists of three parts: the Cold Greenhouse itself, the Hot Greenhouse and the Fresh Greenhouse.
Estufa Fria is one of the most enjoyable green spaces in the Portuguese capital, with various tropical and equatorial plant species, lakes and waterfalls.
